Homicide in Lake County

Composite                Defendant 

On 12/10/2001 the Lake County Sheriff's Office requested assistance in doing a composite drawing for a homicide of a local woman. Witnesses had seen the suspect with the woman a couple of weeks prior to the victim's body being discovered. The suspect was described to me as the composite was developed. Upon completing the composite the witness confirmed it was a close likeness. The composite was shown to another witness who also confirmed the likeness was very close to how they remembered the suspect looking. The composite was aired on the news, and deputies were given fliers. Investigators conducted a search by having deputies stop vehicles in a specific area. The suspect was stopped, and detained for his likeness to the composite. Further investigation revealed the suspect knew the victim and he subsequently confessed to the murder.
