Skull Reconstruction
On 01/29/01 the remains of an unidentified black female were discovered in a heavily wooded area in the location of John Young Parkway and Country Club in Orlando. The victim was discovered by construction workers clearing the area for surveying. According to the forensic anthropologist the victim had been deceased for 1-2 years. According to the forensic anthropologist the victim was a black female, between 50-60 years old, between 410 and 502 tall. The victim had a very distinct protruding jaw, or under-bite. The victim had no teeth, which the forensic anthropologist determined were lost before death, and there was no evidence of denture wear. Investigators believe the victim may have been a transient who lived in the woods.
I created a bulletin and sent it to the agency's "public information officer (PIO), so the bulletin can be sent to the media in hopes of creating some leads that could identify this victim. A few minutes later the PIO contacted me and advised that as soon as the Orlando Sentinel received the bulletin they recognized the victim as a person they had done a story on. The victim's identity was confirmed and the case was determined to be a natural death, as the victim had a degenerative disease and had wondered from her residence and died in the woods some year and a half ago.
